Ann Couch – NPS Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area

Annie Couch has a natural passion for water resources, as her father, Bill Couch, worked as the manager of Georgia’s Buford Trout Hatchery for many years. Annie grew up in a house on hatchery property, right next to the Chattahoochee River. This upbringing a major in Water and Soil Resources led her to sources at the University of Georgia and later work for the Natural Resources Conservation Service. After completing her master’s degree, she saw a job posting for a park hydrologist and was ultimately hired for the position. In 2015, Annie returned to her childhood river to work as a park hydrologist.
