Casting for Recovery
The Casting for Recovery program combines counseling, medical information, and fly fishing to build a focus on wellness instead of illness.
The organization offers a fly-fishing retreat for 14 selected Georgia women in all stages of breast cancer who apply for the program. Not only are participants instructed in how to engage in our wonderful sport of fly fishing, but also the participants are given the opportunity to share stories in a safe and supportive environment while receiving psychosocial and medical expertise surrounding their breast cancer treatments.
Each two-and-a-half-day program along with lodging, meals, equipment, and events are at no cost to the selected participants. UCCTU is proud to make an annual financial donation to this most worthy organization.
For details of the next retreat, visit their main site at www.castingforrecovery.org.
