Advocacy
Speaking for Trout and Salmon
AD∙VO∙CATE n. (AD•vuh•kit) one who defends or supports a person or cause: an advocate for the protection of coldwater resources.
At its core, advocacy is the process of taking a position and persuading others of its merits with the goal of securing consensus or a decision that advances a position.
Trout Unlimited has a long history of advocacy successes, many due to the hard work of people who never would have described themselves as advocates.
In fact, TU’s effectiveness lies in the willingness of grassroots volunteers—people like you—to conduct “on-the-ground” restoration projects and to serve as advocates supporting Trout Unlimited's mission to conserve, protect and restore North America’s trout and salmon fisheries and their watersheds.

The purpose of the Camo Coalition is to organize sportsmen and women across Georgia so they can act quickly if there is an issue affecting our wildlife management or outdoor recreation interests.
Georgia Trout Unlimited partners with Georgia Wildlife Federation's Camo Coalition on coldwater conservation issues and sends out coldwater conservation alerts to TU members when appropriate.
To join, go to GWF Camo Coalition and enter your contact information. The system will provide a list of your elected officials. You will then be ready to send a message to them with the click of a button.
Georgia Water Coalition
Georgia Trout Unlimited is a member of the Georgia Water Coalition, a group of more than 200 organizations representing well over a quarter of a million Georgians. Including farmers, homeowner and lake associations, business owners, sportsmen's clubs, conservation organizations, professional associations, and religious groups, the Georgia Water Coalition continues to speak out and provide information about the importance - even critical nature - of prudent statewide water management. The Georgia Water Coalition effort benefits all Georgians because it asks our leaders to make responsible decisions about how to best protect our water now and in the future.
The Georgia Water Coalition's mission is to protect and care for Georgia's water resources, which are essential for sustaining Georgia's prosperity, providing clean and abundant drinking water, preserving diverse aquatic habitats for wildlife and recreation, and strengthening property values.
